EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY

The underlying philosophy of our educational program is:
To educate medical and nursing students to attain practical skills in medicine for the understanding and improvement of the sick;to uphold the rights of patients and the dignity of life;to maintain the quality of life;to contribute toward the enhancement of medical care and resolution of medical problems in the community.
To inculcate researchers and practitioner with a true sense compassion and to develop broad academic views for research at the leading edge of medicine and nursing.
To encourage the development of international fellowship through education,research and activities in the fields of medicine and nursing.

 

EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

To put our educational philosophy in practice,Asahikawa Medical College sets forth the following objectives:

  1. Develop the capabilities for logical analysis and judgement along with the taking of appropriate and responsible action in any situation.
  2. Establish a sense of professional ethics in medicine and compassion for the diseased and disabled.
  3. Acquire basic skills and techniques and cultivate the professional attitude requisite for a medical worker; promote an attitude of inquiry and develop research skills.
  4. Be able to develop rapport with patients and to communicate openly and effectively with fellow members of a medical team;realise the necessity of cooperation and attention to safety in all work.
  5. Build a relationship with the local community,understanding and meeting its medical needs;practice remote medicine with outlying communities.
  6. Acquire the abilities and wide perspectives necessary for international fellowship.
